By “Barber Shop” is a song from the 1960’s, and it was a huge commercial success in the 1970’s. The song is a good example of just how easy it was to do, how we could be ourselves and still have people like Jimi Hendrix or Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen or Elvis Presley to look up to.
The success of Barber Shop was so widespread we can trace it to a time when many people were still doing their own hair. Barber Shop became a kind of “fashion for hair,” where young women could show off their own hair and just be themselves.
It was the ultimate in self-expression, but it didn’t come easy. The Barber Shop was a very small business, and it took a while to develop a following, to get people to really believe in the style that Barber Shop was going for.
As the title proclaims, it’s one of the first things a person should do to have a life outside of work, to have a hobby, to be an artist, to be a musician, to care for a family. So in Barber Shop we really only need to do our thing there. If you want to do your own hair, just do it that way. If you want to be a musician, go to any tattoo shop and ask for a tattoo.
As we begin the next couple of weeks, we’ll probably see some of the top-selling brands in the world, but the next couple of weeks will likely be the hardest and most rewarding part of the journey.
Barber Shop Yuba City is a new barber shop that opens up in the fall of 2012. It’s the newest and largest and most famous of the several locations that Barber Shop Yuba City has. It’s an incredibly upscale barbershop with a very large selection of luxury cuts of hair. There’s a full barber shop, a small shop, a salon, and the aforementioned shop.
Barbers are a big part of our everyday life, and we love them when we can say, “What do you mean?” We will look forward to seeing each other again.
